Kings Will Rise Up

By March 22, 2010 No Comments

Jay concluded our “Too Small” Sunday series today with a message called Kings Will Rise Up based on a passage from Isaiah 49:7. The PEACE plan was laid out as a means for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus more faithfully.  He referred to my new favorite quote, by Mark Batterson, which is “quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention.” That quote sums up where we’re trying to go as a church. Below are the message notes. Until next time…

Kings Will Rise Up

Too Small – Part 3

This is what the LORD says– the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel– to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: “Kings will see you and rise up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”   Isaiah 49:7 (NIV)

So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.   2 Corinthians 4:12 (NIV)

The PEACE Plan:

  • ·        Promote Reconciliation

(God) wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.    1 Timothy 2:4 (NIV)

  • ·        Equip Servant Leaders

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.  John 13:14-15 (NIV)

  • ·        Assist the Poor

He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.                                                  Proverbs 19:17 (NIV)

  • ·        Care For the Sick

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”  Matthew 25:36-40 (NLT)

  • ·        Educate the Next Generation

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”   Matthew 9:37-38 (TNIV)
